🔥 #AdultColoringChallenge: Fire Challenge 🔥

This site contains affiliate links, view the disclosure for more information.

This week, we’re heating things up (literally)! Your challenge is to create your own burning page effect, inspired by Meg Sky’s Coloring Challenge Book: Step-by-Step Coloring Challenge Tutorials Using Alcohol Markers, using a free page from her hilarious book, Sir Stinkalote: Poop Happens

About the Artist:
Meg Sky (member of our group!) is a mother of three, whom she uses to get ideas for her next coloring books, but prefers the term “networking”. When she’s not drawing or coloring, she screams at strangers to color her books. She makes funny coloring books that are meant to make you smile, and coloring practice books to help you improve your skills (or at least she tries). Check out all of her books currently available on Amazon!

🔥 Challenge Goal:
Use shading, blending, and creative effects to make your page look like it’s catching fire — just like the example below! You can use alcohol markers, colored pencils, or even digital coloring. If you don’t have a printer, you can use any page but you must try your best to create a fire effect. See all the rules below the tutorial.

🔥 Tutorial Reference:
Want to learn the technique? Check out the Burning Page tutorial below from Coloring Challenge Book: Step-by-Step Coloring Challenge Tutorials Using Alcohol Markers. It walks you through how to make realistic flame and scorch effects like this one! If you’re having trouble seeing the text, just right click and open the image in a new window.

If you liked this tutorial, you’ll love the rest of Meg’s Coloring Challenge Book. It includes ten step-by-step tutorials for alcohol markers, covering creative effects like the Puzzle Effect, Burning Page, Glitch Effect, Rainbow Highlights, Shattered Glass, Sticker Effect, Comic Book, Stained Glass, Torn Paper, and even Christmas Lights. Each one comes with helpful tips and a matching practice page so you can try the techniques right away.

RULES!

  1. All posts must START with the hashtag “#AdultColoringChallenge” (if you put it at the end and It falls under the “see more,” we might not see it so it MUST be at the BEGINNING of your post!)
  2. You must use this page (or if you don’t have a printer, use any page, as long as long as you add a fire effect). All entries that use this page, will receive an extra entry in the random drawing.
  3. All posts must credit the artist (Meg Sky, if you use this page) and list the media.
  4. You can use any colors you want and any media you want BUT you MUST add fire!
  5. All pages must be colored THIS week and not a page that you previously posted.
  6. One submission per person. If you make a mistake on your post, edit your post DO NOT REPOST. Multiple posts make more work for admin and will disqualify you.
  7. You must post on Sunday 11/9 noon to midnight EDT USA. Do not post earlier or later – otherwise IT WON’T COUNT! You can use dateful.com to figure out time zone conversion.
  8. Post to either of these groups but NOT both! https://www.facebook.com/groups/AdultColoring OR https://www.facebook.com/groups/privateadultcoloring

Winning Entries

Two winners will be announced on Thurs 11/13 by 8pm EDT (US). One will be selected randomly and one will be selected for having the most “likes.” All winners will be given a $10 Amazon gift card (from Amazon US, CA, UK, ES, DE, IT or AU only). Only one entry per person and members cannot win two weeks in a row.

*Please note that by submitting an entry, you are allowing us to post your colored page on our website(s), social media accounts, product pages, and newsletters
